is the railway junction for the town. It is the junction of Bhimavaram-Nidadavolu section and Vijayawada-Nidadavolu sections of Howrah-Chennai main line. The station is administered under Vijayawada railway division of South Central Railway zone. The nearest operational airport is at Madhurapudi,Rajamundry located at a distance of 45 kilometres.

The primary and secondary school education is imparted by government, aided and private schools, under the ''School Education Department'' of the state. The medium of instruction followed by different schools are English, Telugu.
